Poetry to me is beautiful and meditative. Its an especially unique (well to me at least) means of expression. It has the power to make it's audience feel, see, and understand things they never knew they could from new and refreshing perspectives.

My background in poetry began as a child, reading Dr. Suess and Shel Silverstein. We all know and remember them. From there, high school came and poetry in high school was much different. There was a formula to poetry. This certainly meant that and there was no other way but this one. I was very discouraged and turned away from poetry at this time however, a sliver of interest always creeped in the back of my mind. This sliver pestered me until I finally did something about it in college and I took an elective course in it. Now I just can't get enough of it. So without further ado, I present my poetry blog.
